MANY WAYS TO MAKE AN IMPACT!

The funding necessary to carry out Sky Ranch’s mission "To Facilitate an Encounter with Christ on the Mountaintops" comes from a combination of sources which include income from program, retreats, congregational support, and – equally important - your gifts. Donations make up roughly 40% of the total operating revenue of the Sky Ranch ministry. When you give to Sky Ranch, your gift supports high quality programs, facilities and staff. Your gift provides an interactive Christ centered experience that changes lives.

At Sky Ranch, we never turn away a child because of financial hardship. Sometimes the ones who need camp the most are the ones who can’t afford to pay for it. Your gifts to Sky Ranch gives every child, youth, and family the opportunity to attend regardless of their ability to pay.

Planned Giving

Creating a will or an estate gift is about leaving a legacy that you’ll be proud of and that can benefit those individuals and organizations you care about.


How It Works


• Include a bequest to Sky Ranch in your will or estate.

•  Make your bequest unrestricted or direct it to a specific purpose.

•  Indicate a specific amount, or a percentage of the balance in your estate or trust.


Benefits


•  Your assets remain in your control during your lifetime.

•  You can modify your gift to address changing circumstances.

•  You can direct your gift to a particular purpose.

•  Under current tax law, there is no upper limit on the estate tax deduction for your charitable bequests.

You designate Sky Ranch as the beneficiary of an existing life insurance policy OR transfer ownership of a paid-up life insurance policy to Sky Ranch. Sky Ranch receives the value of the policy upon your death.


Benefits


•  Make a gift using an asset you and your family no longer need.

•  Receive an income tax deduction for the value of your investment.

A charitable gift annuity is a contract between you and Sky Ranch Lutheran Camp. In exchange for your gift Sky Ranch agrees to pay you a fixed payment for life. After your lifetime the gift, less the payment you received, is used for helping Sky Ranch.


Benefits


•  The annuity income will never decrease. In most cases, part of each annuity payment is income tax-free.

•  You may qualify for a federal income tax charitable contribution deduction, further reducing your income tax liability 

    and the cost of your gift.

A Charitable Remainder Trust (CRT) is where securities, cash, or real estate are irrevocably transferred to a trust. The trustee of your choice manages the trust and makes income distributions to you and/or others as specified in the trust document. After your lifetime, the remaining amount goes to Sky Ranch.

•  A guaranteed income for life or a set number of years.

•  No capital gains tax if appreciated assets are used.

•  Tax deduction

A residence, vacation home, farm, or acreage may have appreciated in value over the years to the extent where sale of the property would result in a sizeable capital gains tax. By donating property to Sky Ranch, you avoid capital gains taxes and receive a deduction for the full fair market value of the property.
