Coyote Howl Confirmation Retreat
Registration Opens Soon!
WHAT IS COYOTE HOWL?
Coyote Howl Confirmation Retreat creates sacred space for confirmation students to build upon a foundation which will travel back with them to their home congregations. Coyote Howl retreats offer community building, Bible study, worship and fellowship with youth from throughout the Rocky Mountain Synod. Alongside our dynamic, energetic and passionate staff, youth will explore the way
that God is at work in their individual communities along with how their connection to one another
essentially shapes their journey of faith. This program is designed to support congregational confirmation curriculum
with time for congregations built in throughout the weekend.
Coyote Howl weekends land during the splendor that is autumn in the Rocky Mountains. This creates a unique setting for youth to experience their faith away from the distractions that can often distract us from the beauty around us.
Each member of your group is a valuable gift. Coyote Howl is a space created to recognize the gifts each person brings;
when we allow space for the members of confirmation classes to be
authentically themselves and truly hear their story, the wonders of God’s love and grace can truly be recognized.
LET'S EXPLORE THIS YEAR'S THEME
WHO AM I and HOW CAN I BE A REFORMER/TRANSFORMER?!
With our EXCITING move to Halloween/All Saints weekend this year, we'll be diving deep into the following content-
1. Knowing and being our real selves- examining the masks we hide behind and why, how we create and find community that empowers us to be who we are.
2. A little LUTHERANISM 101- what was the reformation and why, who was Luther and what pieces of what he fought for matter most today.
AND 3. Transformer Training (modern day reformers)
what needs our voice, what needs our hands and hearts,
how do we work for justice and bring peace to broken places.

HIGHLIGHTS from Previous Coyote Howls-
What a wonderful weekend it was as we welcomed middle school campers up the mountain for our Coyote Howl retreat. The sound of laughter, games, and fun that children and youth bring to this place filled the crisp fall air! We spent time together in community, worshiping, playing, and learning about what it means to be made in the image of God. We are creative, unique, loved, and equipped to share God’s love with the world.
We talked about the unique gifts that we all bring to the table, and how being in community helps us to see a fuller picture of who God is. Campers challenged themselves as everyone went up on the high ropes course despite our varying comfort levels, and grew in community encouraging one another along the way. They also hopped right in on worship leadership—playing drums, reading verses, and praying! We are so grateful for all those who joined us on the mountain for this awesome experience!
BREAKOUT SESSIONS
Campers will create story boards, go on day hikes, and participate in low ropes team building--creating an interactive space for youth to experience their faith.
BUILD COMMUNITY
Your youth will grow closer with one another and build new friendships with kids from around the Rocky Mountain Synod. Sky Ranch staff facilitate worship, games, breakout sessions, and more.
FAITH FORMATION
Our caring staff will inspire your youth to engage in their faith at camp, while energizing youth to bring their faith home. Coyote Howl engages youth and builds excitement about the upcoming year of confirmation in your congregation.
ADULT RETREAT
We know how hard you work to bring kids to camp. Fall at Sky Ranch is the perfect time to relax, rejuvenate, and rest! Adults are welcome to play disc golf, hike, or simply relax by the fire in the lodge.
