Executive Director – Sky Ranch Lutheran Camp, northern Colorado

Sky Ranch, an outdoor ministry of the ELCA, is a 117 acre facility located adjacent to Rocky Mountain National Park.  Additional information is available at www.SkyRanchColorado.org.

Responsibilities:   Ministry Leadership and Growth

• Responsible for strategic planning for ministry growth
• Partnership with Board of Directors to facilitate camp renewal and development
• Oversight and upgrade of camp facilities

Financial Oversight and Development

• Oversight of budget process and spending
• Oversight of accounting functions
• Commitment to financial stewardship, including capital development and fund raising

Congregational Outreach and Relationships

• Responsible for outreach to local and national congregations
• Marketing of camp activities and opportunities

Staff Development and Growth

• Participation in camp programming
• Hiring of staff and camp counselors
• Management of Full and Part-time employees

Qualifications:      Individual should be a proven leader with a strong faith in Jesus Christ and a Lutheran oriented theological commitment.

• Management experience and communication skills are essential.
• Must be a proven strategic thinker.  
• A passion for outdoor ministries is required, as well as a thorough understanding of Christian hospitality and servant leadership.
• Individual must be self motivated and directed. 
• A strong record in capital development and fund raising, including successful capital campaigns, is essential.
• Individual should have business application experience and expertise.
• Client communication as well as extensive travel is required.  Sky Ranch serves congregations in the Rocky Mountain Synod (Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming) as well as a national clientele.
• The Executive Director position is located in Ft. Collins and is not primarily an ‘on-site’ camp position.

Compensation:     Salary and benefits based on experience and education.
